Dreams, Fantasies, and Illusions

Richard G. Erskine, PhD.

A 5-day workshop that includes teaching,
supervision, and some demonstrations: Friday, May 25 to Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Domaine Les Fougeres, Mirmande, France (near Montelimar)

Dreams, fantasies, and illusions are important aspects of human experience. They reveal unconscious dimensions of our sub-symbolic experiences; the developmental origins of unconscious relational and pre-reflexive patterns; physiological survival reactions and non-conscious organization of experience; and the significance of nonverbal communication.

This five-day experiential workshop will focus on the centrality of the therapeutic relationship while emphasizing the in-depth methods of a psychotherapy that integrates unconscious communication with the client’s affect, cognition, physiology, and behavior. Various methods of decoding unconscious communication; deciphering the meaning of dreams; the significance of fantasy; the power of illusion, and working within an involved therapeutic relationship will be taught and demonstrated.

Dr. Erskine will do live therapy with some members of the group, lead group discussions about theory and methods used, and teach about the various methods of working with dreams, fantasies and illusions.

This experiential workshop is for mental health professionals who want to apply theory into clinical practice as well as enhance their effectiveness through identifying the inherent meanings in dreams, illusions, and fantasies that may be present in their personal and professional lives.

This workshop will be in French and English with professional translation.
