Methods of an Integrative / Relational Psychotherapy

Richard Erskine, Ph.D.
UK Relational Psychotherapy Association

5-Day Workshop: 20 June to 24 June 2012
Manchester, England

This five day experiential workshop will focus on the centrality of the therapeutic relationship while emphasizing the in-depth methods of a psychotherapy that integrates the client’s affect, cognition, physiology and behaviour. The themes of the workshop may include Life Scripts, unconscious pre-reflective patterns, non-verbal communication, introjections and physiological survival reactions.

Various methods of working within an involved therapeutic relationship, supportive regression, and/or a caring body therapy will be taught and demonstrated. This experiential workshop is for mental health professionals who want to apply theory in clinical practice and to enhance their effectiveness through identifying aspects of their own contact interruptions, life script and counter transference.

Dr Erskine will demonstrate, teach and elaborate on the concepts in Beyond Empathy: A Therapy of Contact is Relationship by Richard Erskine, Janet Moursund and Rebecca Tautmann, 1999.

A certificate of Continuing Professional Development is issued on completion of the workshop.

The Workshop is sponsored by the UK Relational Psychotherapy Association (UKRPA) and the Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy, New York City and Vancouver (www.IntegrativeTherapy.com ) and is coordinated with the training requirements of the International Integrative Psychotherapy Association (IIPA).
