Psychothérapie Intégrative: Formations et ateliers
Case Discussion and Supervision Group
Richard G. Erskine, Ph.D.
from 17:00 to 20:00, Central Euroopean Time.

This case discussion group is intended for psychotherapists and counselors who wish to deepen their understanding and enhance their therapeutic skills when working with clients using Developmentally-based, Relationally-focused Integrative Psychotherapy.
In this seminar we will focus on the client’s unconscious relational patterns and on how transference expresses what the client needs within the therapeutic relationship. We will also explore the therapist’s reactive and responsive countertransference, and how the therapist’s internal sensations and fantasies can be used effectively.
Across these eight meetings (3 hours each), participants will be offered reading materials and group discussions that may include the following topics:
• the central role of attuned therapeutic relationships;
• therapeutic attunement, involvement, and presence;
• the importance of sustained phenomenological inquiry
• responding to relational needs;
• working with the Script System;
• when and how to use behavioral or cognitive interventions and/or supportive age regression;
• countertransference and the therapeutic use of the therapist’s Self.
Participants are invited to present cases from their own therapeutic practice. These may be formal case presentations or spontaneous therapeutic vignettes inspired by the readings and discussions. Participation in case discussions requires a commitment from each member of the group to maintain client confidentiality.
Specific readings will be assigned for each meeting. Participants are expected to come prepared to discuss how the concepts presented in the assigned chapters can be applied in their clinical practice. The primary text is Beyond Empathy: A Therapy of Contact-in-Relationship. If you have read this book before, please reread the chapters so the concepts remain fresh in your mind.
